Your poster must be in A0 portrait format when you submit or print:

Content
Please design your poster using the standard scientific research poster format. We suggest visiting CASRAI Standards to help structure, design, and present your poster. However, it is important to use the dimensions stated above.
Copyright concern
If you use images from the web, make sure you are not breaking copyright law. You can ask permission from the source or use images that are licensed as Creative Commons. In addition, government images usually fall in the public domain and are free from copyright.
Adding the UK Wildfire Conference logo
While including the UK Wildfire Conference logo on your poster is not a requirement, we would greatly appreciate it if you could include the logo as part of your poster design. This helps us maintain a consistent visual identity across the conference and makes it easier to identify posters presented as part of the UK Wildfire Conference.
The conference logo is provided for this purpose and may be included in a suitable location on your poster. Please ensure that the logo remains clearly visible and is not altered or distorted.
Printing and putting up your poster
The UK Wildfire Conference will not be printing your posters as you are expected to print your poster in advance and bring a physical copy with you to the conference.
You will be asked to display your poster at a designated area during the registration window before the start of the conference sessions (starts at 8:45 am on Day 1, Tuesday 10th November). A poster board and mounting materials will be provided at the venue for you to display your work.
The Heather Trust's Charles Gimingham Award
The 2026 Charles Gimingham Award is sponsored by Firebreak Services
First introduced at Wildfire2024 in Aberdeen, The Heather Trust’s Charles Gimingham Award recognises the most promising new entrant developing research that contributes to wildfire science. It is named in honour of Professor Charles Gimingham OBE, Regius Professor of Botany at the University of Aberdeen, a pioneer in heathland ecology and fire management research, and a past president of The Heather Trust.
Charles’ family is delighted to return to Wildfire2026 to present the award in his honour at the gala dinner.
Wildfire2026: UK Wildfire Conference presenters that are either a current research student, at Masters or PhD level, someone who is within five years of having completed a PhD, or someone who is within the first five years of a professional role within wildfire research are eligible for the award.
If you meet these criteria and would like your poster to be considered for the award, please give your consent via the Wildfire2026 Poster Awards & Archive Consent Form, which has been sent to your email.
The deadline to opt in and submit your poster is 5 November 2026.
Displaying and archiving your research poster on the Wildfire2026 website
We would like to keep the wildfire conversation going, even beyond this year's conference, in the hope that it can help further advance wildfire research. We would greatly appreciate if you would consider showcasing and archiving your poster on our Wildfire2026 conference website. We will also make sure to properly credit all the authors.
This is entirely optional and we understand if you would not like to participate. If you would like us to display and archive your poster, please give your consent via the Wildfire2026 Poster Awards & Archive Consent Form, which has been sent to your email.
