Why Collaboration is Key to Tackling UK Wildfires: Wildfire Resilience Summit 2026

Collaborating with the Institute of Chartered Foresters to promote two wildfire-focussed events this autumn.

It is recognised that there is a need for greater coordinated action and cross-sector working in response to the increasing wildfire risk in the UK. We are therefore pleased to collaborate with the Institute of Chartered Foresters to promote two wildfire-focussed events this autumn. The ICF will host their ‘Wildfire Resilience Summit 2026’ online on 20 October, bringing together tree professionals, wildfire specialists, researchers, land managers and policymakers to explore what recent wildfire events can teach us, and what resilient forestry should look like by 2050. This event is aimed at anyone involved in the management, planning, protection or policy of forests and woodlands. 

Three weeks later, The UK Wildfire Conference takes place in Leeds (10-11 November) and will welcome delegates and speakers from across the UK and overseas to this two-day sector-leading event which will cover a broad range of wildfire issues such as infrastructure, land management, research, governance, communications and much more. Supported by the UK Government, the theme of the conference is ‘New Perspectives, Shared Solutions’ which reflects the need for greater cooperation and joined-up thinking across sectors.

Both events underline the focus and action within different industries to collaboratively address the heightened wildfire risk.
